Wand of Elemental Convergence

Wondrous Item (Wand), rare (requires attunement)

This elegantly crafted wand is made of intertwined branches from elemental trees, each segment representing a different elemental force. Intricate runes cover its surface, subtly shifting colors to reflect the wand's potential: fiery reds for fire, deep blues for water, verdant greens for earth, and shimmering yellows for air. When held, the wand pulses with a faint warmth and an airy sensation at the user’s fingertips.

While attuned to this wand, you can use an action to expend one of the wand's charges to cast one of the following spells without expending a spell slot: Magic Missile, Thunderwave, Ice Knife, or Flame Blade. The wand has 7 charges. When you cast a spell using the wand, you can choose to expend an additional charge to enhance the spell's effects.

  • Expending an Additional Charge:
    • For Magic Missile: You can create one additional missile.
    • For Thunderwave: The spell's range increases to 30 feet, and the save DC increases by 2.
    • For Ice Knife: The damage of the shrapnel explosion increases by 1d6.
    • For Flame Blade: The sword lasts for an additional minute.

The wand regains 1d6 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the final charge, roll a d20. On a roll of 1, the wand shatters into elemental dust, losing its magical properties and scattering its remains.

A muffled voice echoes within the wand, offering cryptic wisdom about elemental balance and control. Once per day, you can ask a question concerning elemental phenomena or magic, receiving a vague hint as though aided by an ancient elemental spirit.

This wand is not just a tool for spellcasting; it offers guidance in mastering elemental forces, encouraging its wielder to respect the natural order of the world.
