This ethereal cloak is woven from shadows and the essence of secrets, its fabric shimmering with fleeting glimpses of hidden knowledge. When worn, the cloak grants the wearer the ability to understand and speak any languages, as the whispers of ancient tongues fill their mind.
Additionally, the wearer can cast Detect Thoughts once per day without using a spell slot. However, there is a drawback: with every use of the cloak's ability to delve into the minds of others, the wearer risks becoming overwhelmed by the voices. After each use of Detect Thoughts, the wearer must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 15) or suffer disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws until they finish a long rest, as the murmurs make it difficult to focus.
Once per long rest, the wearer can invoke the cloak's deeper power to invoke a spell that allows them to cloak themselves in a veil of silence. While wearing the cloak, the wearer can cast Silence in a 20-foot radius centered on themselves, which lasts for up to 10 minutes, requiring concentration. The area of silence is infused with secrets that no one can share within its bounds, making it a perfect tool for clandestine meetings or stealthy escapes.
Faint echoes of laughter and secrets linger on the edges of the wearer's consciousness, hinting at knowledge yet to be uncovered. The cloak responds to the truthfulness of those who speak while within its enveloping fabric; if the wearer hears a lie within 30 feet, they can choose to gain advantage on their next Insight check within the next hour, as the whispers lend clarity to their intuition.
Woven into its shadows, the observer finds both tremendous potential and the weight of daunting mysteries, granting them insights that can change the course of their adventures.
