Cloaked in an ethereal veil of darkness, it appears almost liquid, gliding along surfaces with a grace that belies its ominous presence. Its features are obscured, and the air around it seems to warp, creating a sense of disorientation in anyone close. Strange whispers can be heard emanating from the depths of its form, murmuring lamentations that chill the air. Abilities
Shadow Veil. The creature can move through walls, ceilings, and floors as though they were difficult terrain. It can only end its turn in an unoccupied space.
Despair's Grasp. Any creature that starts its turn within 30 feet of the creature must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened until the start of its next turn.
Life Drain. Melee Spell Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 25 (4d10) necrotic damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or have its hit point maximum reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken. This reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest.
Mournful Echo (Recharge 5-6). The creature releases a chorus of keening voices. Each creature of its choice within 60 feet that can hear it must make a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 36 (8d8) psychic damage and is stunned until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn’t stunned.
Actions
Multiattack. The creature makes two Life Drain attacks.
Invisibility. The creature can magically turn invisible until it attacks or chooses to end the effect as a bonus action. This invisibility does not break if it attacks a creature that is frightened.
