Tome of Echoing Whispers

This ancient tome, bound in deep green leather and embossed with silver sigils, hums softly with untold secrets. When opened, the pages shimmer with an ethereal glow, revealing a language that echoes in the minds of those who dare to read it.
While attuned to this tome, a creature can invoke its power to manipulate sound and communication. Once per long rest, as a bonus action, the user can unleash a powerful whisper that carries their voice without the need for speech. This whisper can be heard up to 300 feet away and can be directed to any one creature the user can see. The target must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become charmed for 1 minute. While charmed in this way, the creature regards the user as a trusted friend and ally. It has no knowledge that it has been charmed and will act in accordance with the user's wishes to the best of its ability, even defending them if necessary. The charmed creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
Additionally, once per day, the tome allows the user to cast the Sending spell without expending a spell slot. After casting this spell, the tome's pages flutter ominously, indicating that it requires an hour of stillness for the echoes of its power to recharge.
However, the nature of the tome is not without consequences. Each time the user employs its abilities, roll a d6. On a roll of 1, the whispers take on a mind of their own, causing the user to temporarily lose control. For the next minute, the user hears haunting echoes of their past, imposing disadvantage on their next attack roll or ability check.
In a world filled with deception and intrigue, this tome is a potent ally, a tool for manipulation, and a reminder of the fragile balance between trust and betrayal.
