The Abyssal Lament of the Silent Gale
A haunting presence drifts through the world, a manifestation of despair born from forgotten sorrows. Its form appears as a swirling mass of shadow and ethereal winds, flickering faintly like a dying star. Whispers curl around it, echoing long-lost lamentations that chill the bones of those who hear them. This creature has the ability to draw strength from the grief of nearby beings, feeding on their sorrow to become increasingly potent. In battle, it weaves illusions and spectral winds, leaving its enemies disoriented and haunted by their own memories.

Ethereal Echo. As a reaction, when an enemy within 30 feet of it makes an attack roll or a saving throw, the creature can impose disadvantage on the roll by whispering their deepest fear. The creature may use this ability a number of times equal to its Charisma modifier (minimum of once).
Sorrowful Wail. As an action, the creature can release a haunting wail. Each creature within 30 feet that can hear it must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Actions
Multiattack. The creature makes two attacks with its Corrupted Touch.
Corrupted Touch. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 18 (4d6 + 3) necrotic damage. If the target is frightened, it takes an additional 7 (2d6) psychic damage.
Invisibility of Grief (Recharge 5-6). The creature vanishes from sight, becoming invisible until it attacks, or until the end of its next turn. While invisible, it gains resistance to all damage and can move through creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. It takes 1d10 force damage if it ends its turn inside an object.
Rejuvenating Remembrance (1/Day). When reduced to 0 hit points, the creature can instead return to life with half of its hit points if it has consumed the grief of at least one creature in the last minute. The creature re-forms in a space it occupied within 30 feet of its previous location.
As adventurers encounter this entity, they must grapple with their own unresolved emotions while attempting to overcome the ghostly force that feeds on despair. The challenge lies not only in defeating a foe but in resisting the emotional tides that threaten to envelop them.
