This intricately designed locket appears to be made of silver and adorned with tiny, swirling patterns that shimmer softly in various lights. When held against the chest, it has a comforting warmth and hums faintly, as if echoing with memories of the past.
While wearing this locket, you can recall one memory from your past with perfect clarity. As a bonus action, you may activate this ability once per short or long rest, allowing you to regain an expended spell slot of 2nd level or lower. The memory does not have to be positive; the more vivid the recollection, the more potent the magic.
Additionally, once per long rest, when you are about to take damage, you can invoke the locket's power to recall a memory of a particularly harrowing experience. This grants you resistance to one instance of damage (choose damage type upon use) for the duration of that attack.
The locket also has a secondary feature: once per day, when you speak a secret held within the depths of your heart while wearing the locket, you can project an echo of your voice that resonates up to 60 feet away. This can be used to convey a message to a creature you can see and allows them to hear you as if you were whispering in their ear, regardless of obstacles or distance.
Should you lose favor with someone important while wearing this locket, or if you choose to share a painful memory instead of a cherished one, the locket's magic may become unstable. This could lead to unexpected side effects, including temporary loss of the ability to regain spell slots or resistance until the bond with the locket is repaired through reflection and honesty.
