Golem's Heartstone Amulet

Wondrous Item (Amulet), rare (requires attunement)

This intricate amulet is fashioned from a blend of smooth, dark stone and shimmering gemstones that seem to pulse with a warm light. When worn, it grants the user an unwavering resolve and enhanced physicality, inspired by the stony fortitude of golems.

While wearing the amulet, you gain the following benefits:

  • Resilient Endurance: You have advantage on saving throws against being paralyzed and on death saving throws. Additionally, once per long rest, when you take damage, you can expend a hit die to reduce that damage by an amount equal to the roll of the die + your Constitution modifier.

  • Guardian's Bestowal: Once per short rest, as a bonus action, you can summon a spectral golem that provides a protective aura. The aura has a 10-foot radius and lasts for 1 minute. While within the aura, you and allies gain 1d4 temporary hit points at the start of each of your turns. The golem cannot attack or be attacked, but it does absorb healing that would apply to its allies.

  • Animate Stone: If you reach 0 hit points while bearing the amulet, and if you haven’t already used this feature, you can choose to automatically stabilize with 1 hit point. Upon doing so, the amulet crumbles into a pile of dust and the effect is rendered inactive until a ritual involving touching the stone to an earth elemental or a golem is performed over a period of 1 hour.

The amulet’s magic is intricately linked to the life-force of golems and their guardians, making it a prized possession for those who seek strength, protection, and a deeper connection to the mineral realm. However, the user must contend with whispers of ancient golem artisans, who impart their stern wisdom, which may sometimes lead to unforeseen complications if one's will falters.
