This intricately designed silver locket is adorned with swirling patterns that catch the light beautifully. When opened, it emits a faint, melodic hum that seems to resonate with the secrets of the world. The locket can be worn as a necklace or kept in a pocket, and it glows softly when in the presence of hidden knowledge or suppressed emotions.
While attuned to the locket, you can use an action to whisper a single question or statement into it. The locket absorbs these words and transforms them into a "whisper" that can be shared with an ally within 30 feet. The recipient will hear the message clearly in their mind, and they can respond with a question or statement of their own in this way, which causes the locket to vibrate softly in your hand as it receives their words.
The locket has three charges. You can expend one charge to make a Wisdom (Insight) or Intelligence (Investigation) check with advantage, drawing upon the locket’s whispered thoughts to analyze a situation or unravel a mystery. If the locket runs out of charges, it regains 1d3 charges each day at dawn.
Additionally, once per day, the attuned wearer can use the locket to overhear a secret conversation within a 100-foot radius, provided the participants are speaking quietly enough that they would not normally be heard. The wearer hears the conversation as distinct whispers echoing in their mind, and they can retain this information for up to one hour.
However, the power of the locket comes with a price. After using its abilities, the wearer must succeed on aDC 15 Wisdom saving throw or become overwhelmed by the secrets they've uncovered, suffering disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws and checks for the next hour as their mind grapples with the overwhelming burden of knowledge.
