This stunning, multifaceted prism shimmers with the vivid colors of the elemental planes, swirling with hues of fire, water, earth, and air. When held, it feels pleasantly cool to the touch and resonates with an invigorating energy. Crafted by ancient elementals to maintain the balance between their realms, this item allows the attuned user to harness elemental powers for both offense and defense.

While holding the prism, the attuned user can summon the elemental energies in various ways:

  1. Elemental Fusion: As an action, the user can choose one of the four elements (fire, water, earth, air). They can cast a spell corresponding to that element without expending a spell slot. Available spells include Fireball (fire), Tidal Wave (water), Meld into Stone (earth), or Gust of Wind (air). This ability can be used once per long rest.

  2. Adaptive Shielding: Once per short rest, the user can spend a reaction to envelop themselves in an elemental barrier when targeted by an attack. The barrier grants resistance to the chosen element's damage type for that round (fire, cold, bludgeoning, or lightning).

  3. Elemental Infusion: The attuned user can enhance a melee weapon they are wielding with elemental energy. As a bonus action, they can choose an elemental damage type. For the next minute, their weapon deals an additional 1d4 damage of that type. This effect can be used a number of times equal to the user's proficiency bonus, regaining all expended uses after a long rest.

In addition, the prism allows the user to communicate with elemental beings once per day, establishing a temporary connection with the elemental plane of their choosing. This connection permits them to ask questions or seek guidance from an elemental ally for 10 minutes.

There is a cost to such power; as the attuned user manipulates these raw energies, they must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw at the end of each day they utilize the prism. Failure results in the user becoming overwhelmed by the elemental forces, suffering one level of exhaustion.
