Echoing Gauntlets of the Forgotten Whisper

These elegantly crafted gauntlets are made from a strange material that shimmers with a silvery hue, evoking the sensation of familiarity and mystery. As you slip them onto your hands, a faint whisper fills your ears, echoing secrets long forgotten. The gauntlets resonate with the energies of the past, allowing you to channel whispers of wisdom and forgotten knowledge.
While wearing these gauntlets, you gain a +1 bonus to your spell attack rolls and the save DCs of your spells. Additionally, once per long rest, you may invoke the memories of the ancients to cast either Detect Magic or Identify without expending a spell slot.
As a bonus action, you can also use the gauntlets to amplify a single spell that you cast on your turn, allowing it to echo through time and space. Choose one of the following effects based on the level of the spell slot you expend for the original spell:
- 1st Level or Higher: The spell’s range increases by 30 feet.
- 3rd Level or Higher: After the spell is cast, the target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your spellcasting ability modifier) or be unable to act on its next turn as it is momentarily overwhelmed by echoes of the past.
- 5th Level or Higher: The spell can affect one additional target if it has an area of effect or one additional creature if it requires a target, provided they are within 30 feet of the original target.
However, wielding the profound secrets carried by these gauntlets comes at a price. At the end of each day, you must succeed on a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw or experience vivid dreams that disturb your sleep. While affected, you have disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws until you take a long rest.
With such power, these gauntlets offer both opportunity and danger, a reminder that some echoes are not meant to be awakened.
