Its skin glistens with moisture, and hollow eyes devoid of life stare blankly toward those who dare to approach. This being, a once-living soul, now exists to mourn the lost and lure the living into an eternal embrace. With every lamentation sung, it twists the air around it, causing a strange allure that draws in the unsuspecting. When attacked, it unleashes a wave of sorrow that can drown even the sturdiest of hearts in despair. Amphibious. The creature can breathe both air and water.

Mournful Allure. As a bonus action, the creature can emit a lament that forces all creatures within 60 feet to make a DC 17 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, a creature is charmed for 1 minute. While charmed in this way, the creature moves toward the source and cannot take reactions. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Grasp of the Depths. Melee Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (4d8 + 2) cold damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 17 Constitution saving throw or be restrained. The target can remake the saving throw at the end of each of its turns to free itself from the grasp.

Harrowing Harmonies (Recharge 5-6). The creature sings a haunting melody. Each creature of the creature's choice within 60 feet must make a DC 17 Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 45 (10d8) psychic damage and is stunned until the end of its next turn. On a successful save, a creature takes half damage and isn’t stunned.

Actions

Multiattack. The creature makes two Grasp of the Depths attacks.

Drowning Embrace (Recharge 6). The creature envelops a target it can see within 30 feet in a swirling mass of water and sorrow. The target must succeed on a DC 17 Strength saving throw or take 36 (8d8) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. On a successful save, the target takes half as much damage and isn’t knocked prone.
