This beautifully crafted chalice shimmers with an otherworldly light, made of a material that seems to shift colors, resembling the dance of a flame. The rim is adorned with intricate engravings of swirling patterns that tell stories long forgotten. When held, the chalice feels warm to the touch, as if it houses a small flame of energy waiting to be unleashed.
While attuned to this chalice, you gain the ability to tap into the memories of those who have drank from it. Once per day, you can fill the chalice with a liquid of your choice (water, wine, or any non-magical beverage) and allow yourself and up to three willing creatures to partake. Upon drinking, each participant must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 15). On a success, the creature gains the ability to recall one memory that has been lost to time or to share a memory that bonds the group, providing each member with advantage on one skill check or saving throw of their choice made within the next hour.
Additionally, you can invoke the chalice's hidden power by pouring out the remaining liquid. When doing so, you unleash a wave of ethereal energy, causing creatures within a 30-foot radius to make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 15). On a failed save, they become overwhelmed by powerful memories and are incapacitated until the end of their next turn, reliving moments from their past that distract them from their current situation.
Once the chalice has been used to cast this incapacitating effect, it cannot be used again until the next dawn. The chalice's powers are drawn from the memories it holds, so the more you use it, the more you may find enlightenment or understanding about the past – either yours or those around you. Each time you drink or pour liquid, you may experience brief glimpses of memories associated with the chalice itself, connecting you to others who have come before.
Through its use, the chalice not only aids in overcoming challenges but also fosters deeper connections between party members, highlighting the importance of shared history and camaraderie.
