The Encounter

Entrance and Elemental Puzzles

As the players step into the crystal chamber, they immediately feel the vibrant energy pulsing around them. However, before they can approach the Nexus Crystal, they must face two elemental puzzles that each respond to a different guardian's essence.

The Fire Puzzle:

The players must now engage in a battle against the Elemental Wardens while dealing with Yrax's shadows. The summoned creatures exhibit the powers of the element they represent:

  • Ignathius, Warden of Fire: Uses fire blasts and can ignite lacerating flames around him, creating hazards on the battlefield.
  • Frostwen, Warden of Ice: Attacks with icy shards, creating an area of slippery ice that hampers movement and dexterity.
  • Terrakar, Warden of Earth: Causes tremors and rock spikes to erupt from the ground, limiting players' movement.
  • Zephyra, Warden of Air: Creates gusts that can launch players back or knock them prone.

Yrax stays in the background, casting darkness spells to obscure the battlefield, summoning shadow minions occasionally to disrupt players. Each warden has a weakness to their opposing element, providing players clues on how to exploit their powers.

Resolution: Awakening the Nexus Crystal

Upon defeating the Elemental Wardens, Yrax reveals his true form, seeking to engulf the players in his shadow. The adventurers have the opportunity to banish him with the elemental crystals they obtained from the puzzles.
