Amulet of Temporal Echoes
Wondrous Item (Amulet), rare (requires attunement)
This intricately crafted amulet features a swirling design reminiscent of a vortex, with a gem at its center that shimmers in shades of blue and silver. When worn, the amulet grants the bearer the ability to access glimpses of possible futures.
Once per long rest, the wearer can activate the amulet to cast the Augury spell without expending a spell slot. Additionally, as a reaction to being attacked, the wearer can trigger the amulet's deeper power, allowing them to twist time momentarily. When activated, the wearer gains the ability to impose disadvantage on the attack roll against them, while simultaneously enabling them to make a single melee attack against the attacker with advantage.
Furthermore, the amulet stores echoes of time in the form of temporal threads. After using its reaction in this way, the wearer can choose to recall one of these echoes to grant a +1 bonus to any ability check or saving throw before they roll. The echoes can be used only once each after a long rest.
However, the amulet is not without its risks. Using its powers can draw the attention of time wraiths—mysterious entities lurking at the fringes of reality. While attuned to the amulet, roll a d20 at the end of each long rest. On a roll of 1-5, the wearer experiences a strange phenomenon: their hair briefly turns gray, and they must succeed on a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw or be plagued by confusing visions until the next long rest. During this time, they have disadvantage on Intelligence-based checks and saving throws.
Harness this amulet's powers wisely, for the threads of time are delicate and ever-changing.
